Before you go to bed, give your troubles to God. He will be up all night anyway.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:6-7

Here God is telling us that one of the most important weapons - one of the greatest benefits - He has given us to resist Satan’s attacks upon our joy and peace and intimacy with God is to stop trying to solve every problem that comes our way in OUR OWN STRENGTH; BY OUR OWN POWER; BY OUR OWN MEANS.  Give it to God instead!  Give HIM our burden!  Include Him in it, for deliverance if necessary ... for provision if necessary ... for whatever wisdom might dictate in the situation.

I mean … think about it.  If He didn’t want us giving Him our troubles – giving Him our adverse cares – why would He tell us to do so in the first place?  He tells us so we'll be wise enough to do it!

That's why I so love this song by Amy Grant. Sums it all up so beautifully.

Rocky vs. Biff

Robert Malone went fishing for shrimp and pulled in a surprise: a 27-pound Maine lobster that could never be viewed as shrimpy.

The beast, caught in the vicinity of Rockland, Maine, was dubbed Rocky, reports the Associated Press. Of course, the size of the lobster's fearsome claws also bring to mind the meaty fists of that boxer named Balboa.

By the pound, Rocky should be a valuable lobster. But this crustacean's size could indicate a long life. And geezer lobsters don't make great eating.

Then there is the lobster that Katelyn got for her birthday.

Crazy Kids!

For some reason there was a mock wedding at school. I'm not really sure . . . probably wouldn't understand! Katelyn & Erica are the presents.

Jelly Belly Fun Facts

I entered a contest being sponsored by Gluten-Free Saver. If I win, I will win $177 worth of gluten-free products! Whoo Hoooo! Anyway, the question I had to answer was

"The first Jelly Belly flavors were root beer, grape, very cherry, lemon, cream soda, green apple, tangerine and what other flavor?"

Do you know? Think about it while you finish reading. I'll give you the answer at the end!

So while I was researching to find the answer, I read some other interesting trivia about Jelly Belly jelly beans.
  • It takes 7 to 21 days to make a single Jelly Belly jelly bean.
  • Enough Jelly Belly beans were eaten in the last year to circle the earth more than five times.
  • Jelly Belly jelly beans were the first jelly beans in outer space when Ronald Reagan sent them on the 1983 flight of the space shuttle Challenger.
  • Very Cherry remained the favorite flavor until 1998 when Buttery Popcorn moved into first place. In 2003 Very Cherry moved back into top position by a mere 8 million beans.
I personally like the Buttery Popcorn over Very Cherry. Just my opinion.

Then there is Jelly Belly art. People actually make pictures with jelly beans!  Here are a couple.

And now, the answer is licorice.

Ummm . . . . . . . I don't think I have words

Talk about geek chic.

A Dutch company has developed a pair of high-tech trousers equipped with a wireless rubber keyboard stitched over the groin for those who need to dash out a line of code on the go.

“The idea was that you could log in to your computer and control it without sitting in a closed environment behind your desk,” designer Erik de Nijs told the Daily Mail.

The digital dungarees also sport a wireless mouse in the back pocket and a pair of speakers sewn into the thighs.

The company that came up with the idea, Nieuwue Heren, run by de Nijs and his partner Tim Smit, have aptly called their jeans, “Beauty and the Geek.”

The fledging company has only developed a prototype, but estimates the iPants would cost around $400 in stores.

God Always Finds a Way

God always finds a way to let me know that what I'm doing, not doing, feeling or not feeling is either right or wrong. He hit the nail right on the head with this one. Thank you Lord, I needed that reminder.

Love Our Enemies

Anytime we have been cheated or betrayed, anytime a friend, spouse, brother or sister has let us down, anytime we have been judged harshly or spoken to unkindly, we have the opportunity to love our enemies.

Oh how true . . . .

Gifts of Grace

We are always trying to please God, but it is God who is always trying to please us. God is always surprising us with gifts of grace when we least expect them.

Happy Valentines Day!

Things don't really matter. It's spending time with each other that really warms the heart.

Thought for the Day

During our own journeys throughout life, our Lord allows us to rub elbows with those who may not have faith, so that we can be an example of faith, hope, and love to them through our words and actions.

Can you guess?

Did you know that there is only one word in the English language where an "m" is followed by a "t"? Can you guess what it is? Think really, really hard. Are there any images, thoughts or emotions passing through your mind? Give up?

Go ahead and look -  here.
